Eek! It's here. As the fashion world waits to see what unfolds tomorrow at the worlds most eye catching Fashion Week in New York for SS11 collections , speculation has most certainly been mounting! The rumour mill has churned out the prospect of Britney performing at POP magazine's party, Alexander Wang will have his very own own funfair at his party while our favourite Style Rookie Tavi will be backstage styling as opposed to front row blogging! But all will be revealed as it all kicks off tomorrow with Nicholas K at 9am (2pm our time!) Fashion Week's new home in the Lincoln Centre.
But how will the world's most famous event cope without Bryant Park? For 16 years Mercedes Benz NY fashion week set up camp inside those wondrous white tents but has made the move to a new location - that being the Lincoln Centre, with hopes of adding a 'consumer element' to the once exclusive event. Long gone are the tents and designers and models alike are getting familiar with the theatre, stage, studio, box presentation space and glamorous glass courtyard area. Removing the event from the fashion district has sparked flutters of worry - is this the end of an era, but surely a move to a larger space can only be a good thing?
Fashion week and it's new home are to be celebrated tonight at the Lincoln Centre with Mayor Bloomberg opening the event and are to temporarily rename the one subway route 'fashion line'. It feels like Christmas Eve, obviously you can read all about it here from 2pm tomorrow!
