Warm Summer...

A dress that radiates warmth. The radiating red feathered skirt dress by Giamattista Valli is a wonderful attention grabbing wardrobe addition. Toughen up with black shoes/bag/accessories or keep in with the colour scheme with something tropical.

Poor Performance...*Spoiler Alert*

What a disappointing follow up. Sex and the City 2 was an absolute shambles. From high heels in the desert, to Charlotte claiming her failing as a mother (but doesn't work and also has the full time assistance of a nanny (Irish and braless).

A cringe worthy Single Ladies performance by Liza Minnelli set up the tone for the remainder of the film which was lack-lustre with no focused story for our favourite foursome or the city. Carrie swapped fashion for furniture while Big was portrayed as less wealthy than before (it had taken two years to complete decorating their apartment). Penelope Cruz got her one line in whilst appearing as a man nabbing banker from Madrid. Carrie predictably put her passport down forgetting to pick it up when spying Aiden who coincidentally enough was in Abu Dhabi exactly the same time as them! They then shared a kiss, disregarding both of their marriages. What felt like a painful eternity later Carrie decides to inform Big of her mishap and rather than scolding her or making her face consequences he buys her a diamond ring!

Not enough New York, not enough traditional Sex and the City characters. Bleak, predictable, could be anybody characters who had moved from sophisticated New York City girls to karaoke bar singers. I am woman hear me roar. No thank you. Rather than letting SATC exit on a high note it had to be taken further. Evidentially there are no SATC story lines left and it is just being stuffed to the brim with stereotypical chick flick essences. What an absolute let down!

Carried Away...

Sex and the City mania has truly hit again and some of the most fabulous items of clothing can be spotted amongst the hysteria surrounding the fabulous four. Last time it was the Vivienne Westwood wedding dress that girls all over the world were practically drooling over, but now attention has moved towards the beautiful Halston Heritage numbers that our favourite girl is wearing. And they're not that ridiculously expensive. For a mere £420 you can own your very own electic blue tiered Halson Heritage chiffon dress a la Carrie Bradshaw. Or the so sweet it makes you mouth watering peach asymmetric dress that Carrie swans around Abu Dhabi in for £216. Or even the show stopping grand entrance white jersey v-neck dress. The problem isn't the extortionate prices, because they're hardly breaking the bank prices but it's the availability that will be the problem. It seems we all have a little Carrie in us...

Mulberry do Glastonbury...

But in New York and without the mud. The fashion house launched a photography book with a suave party at Milk Studios penthouse - which was jam packed with every pretty face imaginable! Agyness Deyn shown up, looking more farmer than fantastic, while my favourite, Olivia Palermo entered in a ruffled asymmetric number. Chanel Iman went tribal and Michelle Trachtenberg channelled Georgina Sparks in leather trousers and a grey leopard print top. Quite the fashionable affair...

JPG Out of there...

Hermes announced today that after a beautiful 7 year partnership Jean Paul Gaultier is abandoning his role as creative director of the brand. The released statement maintained that the reasoning behind this was for JPG to concentrate fully on his own brand and projects. Word is spreading that Christophe Lemaire from Lacoste (shocking!!) is to replace JPG in the role of creative director. The SS11 collection is the last collection by JPG for Hermes.

The Girls are Back in Town...

It's that time again. SATC is back. Shinier, glossier and anticipated to be too far fetched and to untie all the loose ends that were tied in the first one. But it's a must see (apart from the 80's flashback, the whole Aiden in Abu Dhabi and Carrie and Big on/off/on/off). Let sleeping dogs lie I say! But they're not being left to lie and Michael Patrick King has put a whirlwind smack bang in the middle of the girls' lives. But at the red carpet event in New York on Monday everything was as it should be. SJP graced the red carpet in a stunning bright yellow Valentino Couture gown, sun kissed skin and loosely waved hair. The simplicity of her accessories, make-up and hair worked against the statement dress. True to form, the four girls dresses complimented each other wonderfully. Kristin Davis wore a shocking pink bandeau dress by Jean Desses while Kim and Cynthia's were a little more understated in black and gold. The premier was just a taster of what to expect from the £7 million wardrobe in the film...

Superwoman Huntington-Whitely...

She conquered the modelling world, she was/is an Angel. She was the face of Burberry's AW08 campaign. She recently became the face of Monsoon Accessorize Lingerie and has rumours are now flying round that she is to take the female lead in Transformers 3. Is there anything that this girl can't do?

Kilted to go...

Mr Jacobs clearly likes feeling free. First, spotted in a kilt whilst serving at Jury duty then baring it all near enough in the ad campaign for his new men's fragrance - Bang with only a bottle of the fragrance protecting his modesty. You've got to wonder whether he true to the Scottish rules of the Kilt?

Fashion TV...

First there was Blair Waldorf with her pretty hairbands, pleated skirts and colourful tights, then there was Betty Draper with her bright pink lipstick, full skirts and pretty floral blouses now we have Miss Pillbury. The television is most certainly providing us with our fashion fix lately. With her beautiful, vibrant twin sets and pearls, high waisted skirts and pussy bow blouses she is a true style icon and with numerous episodes of Glee left, there is much more to come...

Treacy goes Gaga...

News surfaced last week that Philip Treacy and Gaga had combined their ideas to create a number of headpieces. Shortly after, news emerged that Gaga had also applied for an internship position with the designer. Imagine that, popstar turned intern. The creations are something I'd like to see...

Cruise in the City...

YSL are set to show their Cruise collection 2010 at the home of the French Embassy in NYC. The choice may seem somewhat less exotic than Chanel's choice of St Tropez or Dior's visit to Shanghai, but really is there any better location than the concrete jungle? June 3rd 2010 is a date to watch in NYC...

Dresses made of all things nice...

The annual Fieldston's Fashion Show took place at Fieldston School in the Bronx New York on Tuesday. Spectators watched as the creations that were made out of anything but fabric emerged down the catwalk. Dresses made out of rubber gloves and rubber ducks, metal washers and attic insulation, beads, jelly beans, edible paper, tic tacs, newspapers and sports illustrated. Imaginative and fun, and best of all some can be devoured afterwards...

What Next...Diet Coke and Nails Inc that's what...

In four different colours to represent the fashion capitals of the world. Red, pink, purple and nude for the chic cities; London, Paris, New York and Milan. What's even better is that they come free when you buy two bottles of Diet Coke from Boots. Wonderful. I love these unexpected collaborations!

Shrek Nail Varnish and Prada Tea....

Always wanted nails like Shrek? Well now you can. OPI have teamed up with Shrek - a film adored worldwide by children and adults alike. But nail varnish and Shrek, definitely an unexpected combination. The blue and lavendar shades I could use, but the Shrek green makes me a little wary...

Another unlikely combination, Prada and tea. Pretty boxes that contain tea in two chic flavours; Infusion de Tubereuse and Infusion de Vetiver. Pop into a pretty China cup and show off your Shrek inspired nails whilst drinking your Prada tea for a whole new take on tea time.

Whatever next?

Back to the 60's...

Style crush of the moment; Betty Draper from Mad Men. While the men skulk around in suits sharp enough to take out an eye, Don's better half keeps things pretty. From her porcelain skin to her shocking pink lipsticks, I am in awe. The comes the full skirted dresses, pretty pastels, floral prints, fur shrugs, stockings and corsets, pleated skirts, nudes, delicate curls, Blair Waldorf hairbands and the perfect hourglass figure. Ladylike lustre at its best, be the Betty Draper of your world...

Chanel Cruise...

Enter King Lagerfield surrounded by some of the most stunning girls you could ever imagine and what do you have? Chanel Cruise 2010/2011 collection. Beach boho at its finest as the streets of St Tropez became catwalk to the Chanel Cruise collection last night. Georgia May Jagger, Abbey Lee, Anja Rubik amongst others stepped off a speedboat to make their grand entrance in a collection that lived up to its reputation. Lots of tan, maxi dresses, ruffles, beautiful pinks, delicate chiffons and bare feet highlighted the beachy feel of the collection. I may be in awe of the final look modelled by Miss Jagger, but in no certain terms does that mean I am warming to her. I applaud youMr Lagerfield, you have done it again...

Underwear as outerwear is still big this season, so buy some pretty lingerie and expose the straps under a pretty night dress (Topshop) for a perfect on-trend SS10 look!

Exciting Times for Great Britain...

So we're still unsure of the state of our government. Who's in who's out? Only time will tell. But whilst deals are made (and broken?) and we wait with baited breath to discover our new Prime Minister, attention can be drawn to Whitney Port. Hills turned City girl, fashion communications turned fashion designer's collection 'Whitney Eve' is now is now to be sold here in Britain at DollBoutique.co.uk. A little cautious myself as it seems extremely over priced for what the collection appears to be. On the runway the collection looks girly and pretty - worth the price of the fabric, but the selection available to us here is a little limited in terms of quality and extremely pricey! Where are the pastel shades? The lace dresses? Flirty shorts? Are we being left in the dark again?

Coco over Vanessa...

The exquisite French beauty's collaboration with Chanel for the Coco Cocoon bag has been unvieled. Her girl next door perfect looks epitomise the brand, and there is no lady better for the job. No gown, no ott jewels, just the simplicity of the beauty of the designer and Miss Paradis herself. Breathtaking.

All Dressed up in Love...

OTT feminine elegance at its best. The feathered skirt of the dress in pink blush and a decadent beaded bustier, the Marchesa dress leaves nothing to the imagination. It is all out glitz and glamour. The colours, the textures and the shape. Marchesa remains top of the list for elegant evening wear.

XOXO....

Just two more episodes to go until season 3 comes to a close. Apparently, nothing is certain yet, but producers are in talks with CW to confirm the date of season 4. I have no qualms that season season 3 can be topped, despite the drama, the illness scares, the scandals, the clothes and the magnificent city views and season 4 will reunite us with our one and only trusted source into the lives of the Manhattan elite xoxo

Met Ball...

They were all out last night. The steps of the Met were important in more ways than one as the influential leaders and partakers of the fashion world all attended the 'American Woman' themed annual Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala in NYC. Co-chairAnna Wintour arrived in a dress made especially for her by Mr Karl Lagerfield and Katy Perry wore a tragic LED light enhanced gown. All eyes were on Sienna and Jude as their first (second time round) outing as an official couple. But down to the dresses. Who wore what?
Kristen Stewart - looking as joyous as ever, was seen in a Chanel tafetta gown with a beaded skirt. A dress worthy of attention, but for the right reasons?

Blake Lively graced the red carpet in midnight blue hues by Marchesa, with intricate rosette detailing, minimal accessories and scraped back hair, which worked extremely well.
Camilla Belle also went bold in a stunning Jason Wu floor length sweetheart neckline gown, with one arm detailing.Worldwide favourite Bridget Jones actress, Renee Zellweger wowed in a jaquard print Carolina Herrera dress with stunning bow detailing on the fish tail. A dress worthy of that red carpet.

The nudes (colour of the season) were done by Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad, SJP in Halston, Jessica Biel in antique Ralph Lauren, Kate Hudson in Stella McCartney and Anne Hathaway in Valentino, who all skimmed on the bold colours but added a little bit of glitz, sequins and silk.

Alexa Chung maintained her quirkyness in a 3.1 Phillip Lim trouser suit with a beautiful pussy bow collar blouse underneath. Femininity played up by her loose tresses and bold red lipstick.

Emma Watson shown just why she is the face of Burberry in a edgy yet classy floor length Burberry gown with one shoulder detailing, pleated ends and a very daring split!

An event worthy of the red carpet and designer names to walk down it, a candy shop for the fashionistas.

All Out Glamour...

Graduation? Red carpet event? Any other event worthy of all out glamour? The sequin bustier peplum dress by Alice + Olivia may seem somewhat winter wardrobe material with the khaki colour and silver sequins. But this does not have to be the case. With a healthy glowing tan, loose waved hair or a messy up do, the dress could be perfect for that special event you have. Make it your own with black, silver and khaki tribal accessories, chunky Miu Miu black satin heels....
