I heart Monochrome...

Whoever said black and white was, well, as simple as black and white? A monochrome outfit might appear somewhat simple but playing with textures and prints gives it a whole new feeling. Use spots, stripes, blocks and layers to make your monochrome look have substance. Here are a few I've got my eye on...

Pretty Summer Dresses...

Tis the season for bare legs (well nearly!) and what lovely dresses will do your pins justice? These dresses are right on trend for SS10...


The first, nude, frilled, chiffon skirt dress is right on trend for this season. Dress it up or down, this should be a key piece for your SS10 wardrobe - at only £55 from Yuki at Topshop, it's a must! The second a Steve Alan dress, available at Net-a-porter.com, is also right on trend. Bold colours in a checked pattern, short enough to show off your legs but not dangerously raised eyebrows short! Priced at £220 - but it will be in and out of your wardrobe like there's no tomorrow so the price per wear will make it seem practically free! The final, is another Topshop dress. The exotic print makes my mouth water. Thin straps and floaty chiffon - perfect! And its only £35!

The City...

It returns again in the USA on Tuesday. What can we look forward to this series? Olivia's clashing prints, perfectly set hair, Roxy distracting Whitney's attention? Kelly Cutrone remains with her 'mother earth' position when you catch her in it, Joe Zee trying to keep the catfighting at bay, Erin refusing to warm to Olivia? What could you not enjoy about that? The clothes, the city, the glamour and the drama! Welcome back...

Wow Wow Wow...

3.1 Phillip Lim does it again! What more could you want from a dress. Ivory lace with multicoloured organza pleats and gem embellishment - all in one dress! On paper it sounds so wrong but in real life. Wow. Classy, demure but extravagant (contradictory I know!), and imaginative. A dress that need a special occasion, a dress that is a MUST! The multicoloured organza allows you to play with different coloured accessories, neutral is not a must but works well too...


And the organza doesn't stop there...The dress below, is just as stunning. With intricate crystal detailling, the same organza embellishment and pleating this time around the waist band. 3.1 Phillip Lim certainly have created some beautiful dresses for the season. They are magnificent, the colours, the shapes, the embellishment, the pleats. Absolutely stunning...

Sweet as...

Usually the Quality Street sweet wrapper look does not appeal to me. But there's something about this magenta Marchesa one shouldered dress. It's more jewel than wrapper, sweet not sickly and Absolutely perfect for summer weddings with the rosette detailing on the shoulder and the beautiful cut and structure...

Envious in Erdem...

So, Erdem have pulled out all the stops for their collection for SS10, and every dress I see from it, every dress I want. The magnificent busy but mellow patterns that will make you the envy of everyone wherever you're heading. Alexa Chung was spotted a few weeks ago at an event in a stunning floor length Erdem gown...If floor length isn't quite you're thing they have this stunning 'just above the knee' pleated tier dress, in their signature SS10 print...

Kurt Geiger Gets Confused...

Their peach chunky heels were placed on my wish list for weeks, they had everything I needed from a shoe for this season. But now they've gone and ruined it all with the combination of two colours on one show. The top half a pretty peach, the bottom half a lovely lilac. The colours separately are beautiful, but together, look far too sickly sweet and look like you have accidentally stepped in a tin of paint and pulled your foot out before it engorged your whole foot. Not good KG!

Leighton Meester...

Famously known as Blair Waldorf with her glossy hair finished with pretty hairbands. Is it any wonder that Herbal Essences have snapped her up to be the face of the brand. The latest episodes of Gossip Girl prove she's as 'oh yes' worthy as anyone!

Bye Bye Kell?

A second season of Kelly Cutrone's TV show Kell on Earth has not been secured. Her reality show aired on Bravo finished on Monday without any talks of a second series. But Kelly can't be too upset about this, as reports claim that she's actually just signed another contract for a scripted network TV show which again will be about the fashion industry. I'm a little bit excited...

Gaga Ruled Out...

Rumours were flying round that Gaga was designing a line for the McQueen collection. The rumour, released yesterday, said that the line which was to be released in Spring 2011 was to be called "Poisson D'Avril". Translation: April Fool. Shortly after the rumours were struck down and the record set straight. She may have been an unofficial muse but it appears that's as far as the relationship between McQueen and Gaga...
