Marc by Marc Jacobs

I'm drawn to his clothes like a magpie to something that sparkles. His designs allow you to be casual chic by day and dressed to kill once the sun goes down. From luxurious cashmere cardigans to rosette mini dresses. The sleek lines of his clothes are a must for every wardrobe and his diffusion line is just that little more cheaper, which makes it more accessible to everybody. Even if it's one piece you buy and wear all season through, it's an investment and feels and looks every penny spent.

This gorgeous sequined cardigan gives you that everyday glamour look that is needed. At £250 it is a key investment piece that will be brought out of your wardrobe again and again.
Perfect for that quick day to night transition. Modest enough with pretty flats for daytime glamour, and easily transformed with a big necklace and shoe boots for a toughened up night time look.

And for all out glamour...the Marc by Marc Jacobs Rosette mini dress. There is nothing understated about this dress so save it for a very special occasion.

Allie Crandell...

First shot to fame in Mtv's 'The City' her signature pixie face, huge bambi eyes and petite frame have managed to continue her success. After appearing in music videos such as 'No Promises' by X Factor winner Shayne Ward and 'Falling Down' by Duran Duran, and appearing on the Forever21 website, her career seems to be going up a level. Signed to One Model Management in New York City and also represented by Independent Models in London, I'm sure the world will be seeing a lot more of her face during 2010.

Lulu Guinness

An icon. An inspiration. Her designs manage to be edgy while maintaining a sense of class. She is definitely one to keep an eye on for 2010 with her clever designs this summer. Her fuchsia pink lips clutch is magnificently eye catching. Don't just leave the coloured lips to your face...carry them in your hand too.

Love is in the air...

So Valentines Day is almost upon us and soft, kissable lips are essential. Mac ensure that you have every tool you need to make your lips irresistible. Shades with names like Lustering, Impassioned and Sweetie should make you realise that MAC must be your first stop for your Valentine lips...

Hit & Miss?

H&M has always been a little hit and miss. Never continuously fabulous. But this year definitely seems like their year to shine. From their pretty colourful summer print dresses to their newly revealed embellished shoulder dress. Extremely chic and classy it is perfect for delicate summer lunches, after work drinks and early evening strolls. In store this week at a mere £29.99

Acne

So the usual 'acne' is never pretty. But while the designer name 'Acne' continues on their hot streak, people will long forget the ugly connotations associated with the word. Their gorgeous one shouldered gigantic print asymmetric silk dress is stunning. Also available in navy blue, with a scooped back it is more than perfect for a glamorous garden soiree or summer time wedding.

Big on trend...

Seems to be none other than the maxi dress. Spotted on the likes of Pixie Lott and Taylor Momsen, those long dresses from last summer aren't going anywhere. Whenever I had thought of a maxi dress, I thought of chiffon, I thought of beaches and holidays. Nevertheless with the likes of L'Agence and Fendi, my opinion has changed. Whether they are for casualwear or OTT glamour, they clearly make a statement, and a statement that will be greatly appreciated and envied by those around you.
Not to be one left behind in the trend stakes, Topshop also have their own beautiful collection of maxi dresses. The one pictures below for instance...

Kelly's frank and outspoken demeanour is what has made her the leader of the crazy world that she lives in, and we can't help but love her. We finally get an inside eye into her world that revolves around her NYC based PR company, People's Revolution, her 8 year old daughter, writing her book, living and leading in the fast paced New York fashion scene and what exactly goes on inside that office of hers, that up until now we have only caught a glimpse of on 'The City'.

Kell on Earth airs 1st February 2010 at 10pm on Bravo...

SJP for Halston?

E! Online reports that the Sex and the City star, has been in talks with Halston to be the face of the brand. But there seems there's more to this. Rumour has it, that SJP is contributing a little more than her face to the brand. A source close to the fashion house let slip today that she could be stepping in with a creative role for the brand. This would be her second attempt as a fashion designer after the launch of her own line, 'Bitten' in 2007.

What does this mean for Halston...and furthermore, what does this mean for Sarah Jessica Parker?

PPQ at Mayfair

Is a little confusing. Some of their designs for SS10 are striking, dresses with ruffles and high hemlines, pastel colours and floor length tiered dresses. But the second part of the collection which features a hideous Adidas inspired dress 'thing' and ill cut dresses that are covered with some kind of dreadful geometric print. Slightly confusing as to how they have gone from beautiful, delicate pieces to pieces that belong at the back of your nan's wardrobe.

Henri Bendel

A New York institution. Described as "a rite of passage for elite young women", the store is a playground for girls of all ages.

Since 1895 Bendel's has attracted women from all over the world as well as the elite girls of New York City. Starting with an offering of chic exquisitely designed hats and gowns of his own creation, Bendel started something that still lives on in 2010. Not only did Henri Bendel bring 712 5th Avenue alive with his own designs, but here was where he staged the first fashion show in New York, introduced shopping into the exclusive then-residential neighbourhood of New York and introduced the fabulous Coco Chanel to the United States.

His legacy is undeniable and the store is as legendary today as it was in 1895. The first shopping destination for any girl visiting or living in New York City. It houses some of the most glamorous designer names. From his own range including jewellery to makeup bags and perfume to the Frederic Fekkai salon on the 4th floor, it is truly an iconic shopping destination. His signature brown and white striped bags swing from the arms of stylish young women everywhere around New York City.

You know you love them...

Gossip Girl started, and appealed to girls worldwide. While letting people in to the exclusive New York's Upper East Side elite it also encouraged girls everywhere to be playful with their style. Leighton Meester's character Blair Waldorf, has a signature accessory. Her hairbands. She has brought the hair band back to life and made it a classic, striking accessory for girls everywhere. So why not choose from one of these for yourself...

(3.1 Phillip Lim, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Jennifer Ouellette)

And my favourites are....

Undoubtedly, Marc Jacobs. Everything he does, I adore. From his striking classic 'stam bags' to his beautifully cut dresses, I love it all. The man is a genius, who captures class and imagination into his designs.

A new favourite is Giambattista Valli who's collection for SS10 is stunning. Extremely short hemlines and masses of volume. A designer who's collection was filled with romantic sheer chiffon, voluminous skirts and stunning silhouettes is a definite icon for Spring Summer 2010.

Markus Lupfer. Making dressed down become dressed up. Casual clothing has never appealed to me. Until now. His stunning designs bring those basics to life, and make dressed down dressed up like never before. He has made jumpers and casual t-shirts feminine by including embroidered sequined bottles of perfume and lips and lace bodices onto his designs...And not only that, but his model is absolutely stunning too.

It's that time of year again...

The clothes, the city, the girls. It's back!! 28th May 2010 will be the debut of Sex and the City 2. Rumours of a a split, a returning ex, Carrie's old apartment, a partner's fidelity, Mr. Big becoming bankrupt, Samantha's returning illness, a career change for Miranda? It gives you goosebumps just thinking about it!

But like last time, these rumours will contiue to grow until the film is finally released in May 2010.

Victoria Beckam menswear too?

She tried once and failed, so what is going to be different now? In 2008 she began her menswear range but failed to secure stockists, resulting in the line falling to pieces. But now she's back with a helping hand from...her husband. Rumour has it that David Beckham will be assisting his wife after designing a line for Adidas. It seems David Beckham has hands on experience and could help make her second attempt a big hit.

How short is too short?

It seems "the shorter the better" is the mantra to live by for the upcoming summer days. So it might be time to start preparing your legs now. Expertly cut by Giambattista Valli, shorts are shorter than ever. The perfect accessory is gorgeous, tanned, toned legs to compliment your ever so short shorts.

Markus Lupfer

He's famous for his sequins and embroidery and his clothes give a new meaning to the word casual. No longer do basics make you feel scruffy and uncomfotable, his designs give life to these basics and allow you to embrace your casual wardrobe. His basic pieces will make you feel good anytime, anywhere.

The sequined bodice jumper is my favourite. It's elegant, different and a key piece to add to your wardrobe. How could you not feel fabulously feminine in a jumper like this...

Snow Time...

Temperatures are dropping, snow is falling and ice has covered the roads. So how are you supposed to keep warm and stay prepared while still managing to look fabulous? Winter clothes aren't all about extra padding and unsightly shoes.

Feast your eyes on these beauties...

A hat is perfect if you're not intending on removing it for the rest of the day. But hat hair is a no go, so if you do have to remove your hat in public, why not opt for ear muffs instead? They will keep your ears beautifully warm whilst keeping your hair in the style you set out with. Can't face actual wellies? Marc Jacobs has these beautiful heeled wellington boots that couldn't look any less like normal wellies. Retailing at £169 they are a must for your winter wardrobe to brace the elements for the next few weeks.
Avoid the fur coats, matted fur isn't the nicest sight, and stick to a classic trench coat. Burberry's double breated metallic trench is perfect. In the season's favourit colour, you can't go wrong with this purchase. Keep the cold out with a wool blend scarf, like this Missoni one. Keep the accessories simple if you're opting for a bold coat and vise versa. Black leather gloves are essential.
To top it all off, make yourself extra toasty by including a heart warming gilet into your outfit. Be the envy of the office when you arrive at work looking as perfect as you did when you left the house...

The lower the better?

Are the days of sky scraper heels gone? Is it true, the lower the better?

Seen all over the catwalks for SS10 by Marc Jacobs, Marni and Chloe. The death of the killer heel has begun.

I'd rather have no heel than a mid heel. Lower heel heights aren't the way to go for me. Although pretty flats are always a key essential for your summer wardrobe, feast your eyes on these beauties...
Chloe ankle strap ballerina flats in the lovely shade of purple are just what you need this spring...
Looking for something a little more extravagant? Try these Christian Louboutin 'Big Kiss' studdent leather flats or the Marc Jacobs flueroscent tweed ballerina flats.

For embellished flats look to Marc Jacobs, Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin and Tory Burch. For classic, simple flats, Chloe,Marni, Lanvin, Fendi and Newbark are your calling.

Spring/Summer 2010

It's that time of year when winter is still in it's prime, but Christmas is over so the cold is no fun anymore. Wrapping up seems such an effort and we long for the days where we can bare our arms and legs.

Take a look at trends we'll be seeing for Spring/Summer 2010.

Done expertly by Lanvin, Chloe, Valentino and Christopher Kane, ruffles were back on form. They are the perfect wardrobe addition to welcome in those light night and summer sunsets.

Chanel channeled the milkmaid look on the catwalks for SS10. Think delicate dresses, elements of lace, pretty patterns and playful lengths.

Underwear as outerwear. A trend that started late 2009 and a trend that will continue in 2010. Bare your delicates, but keep it demure. Leave a little to the imagination.

Hair Heroines...

Long or short? Curly or straight?

Your hair is your best accessory, A half hearted up do or a lame attempt at curling will only leave you feeling and looking dishevelled. Take like these girls and make the most of your locks...

Leighton Meester

Her perfectly defined curls, or sleek up do's make her a hair icon. Effortless and pristine. Classic and beautiful. Not to mention her character in Gossip Girl made the hairband famous again.

Erin Lucas

The blunt fringe and sleek straight style is perfect. While her hair remains looking effortless it is also her best accessory. Using a frine to frame her face, Erin's hair ticks all the boxes. Perfect.

Alexa Chung

The master of the shaggy chic look. Her shoulder length dishevelled bob maintains its 'just rolled out of bed like this' look fantastically. Not sure we could all pull it off so well, but she's still a hair icon.
Olivia Palermo

There's nothing effortless looking about Olivia Palermo's style. Evidently, a lot of time and effort has been put in to achieve the pristine look she is famous for. Whether its curled or straight, Olivia's hair always looks breathtaking.

Blake Lively

The queen of the up do. Managing to look just as stunning with her hair in a pony tail as when it's let loose to play around her shoulders. Her California beach hair is stunning. Can this girl do no wrong?

From 09 to 2010

Jimmy Choo and Sonia Rykiel for H&M. Kate Moss continue her line for Topshop. Victoria Beckham channelling her fetish for clean cut, structured, classic dresses. Lady Gaga made those shoulder pads acceptable again and elegant chic was very now. With lace, demure skirts, lady like cardigans, embellished trophy jackets and florals everywhere.

The high street became one of the hottest places to shop, especially with what happened with the economy. And as the iconic Topshop opened it's doors in New York, celebs everywhere were jumping on the band wagon. Celebrities such Olivia Palermo, Olivia Wilde, Beyonce and Taylor Swift were all eager to snap some of Topshops seasonal iconic pieces up.

Luella's show at London Fashion week was a highlight for me. Feminine cuts, pastel colours and bow accessories is a winner for my Spring/Summer 2010 wardrobe.
